Bonnie Lou Holston, of Hatfield, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at her home. She was born on Saturday, June 29, 1935 to Clarence Newton and Alice Hope Dunlap Berg in Forman, West Virginia.
Bonnie loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She served the Lord with her music ability; singing since a very young age and up until her last day she was singing, “Jesus Loves Me.” She enjoyed playing the organ and guitar; going on nature walks, camping and gardening. Bonnie was an excellent cook making all her favorite dishes for her family which included all different types of Italian cuisine; her spaghetti, manicotti, lasagna. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Harmonica Bill” Holston; her two grandsons, Billy Holston and Craig Harrison.
Bonnie is survived by her five sons, William Edward Holston of Sacramento, California, David Allen Holston of Sheridan, Arkansas, Jerry Lee Holston of Hatfield, John Glen Holston of Salem, West Virginia and Mark Steven Holston of Sheridan, Arkansas; one daughter Jeannie Swiger of Norman; eight grandchildren James Clarence Holston of Sacramento, California, Christopher Allen Swiger of Sheridan, Arkansas, Sheri Kay Swiger of Norman, Arkansas, Willis Eugene Swiger of Donaldson, Arkansas, John Glen Holston II of Salem, West Virginia, Shaylyn Marie Holston of Salem, West Virginia, Emily Holston of Salem, West Virginia and Madelyn G. Holston of Salem, West Virginia; six great grandchildren Billy Holston III of Indian Reservation in Washington State, Nickolas Swiger of Sheridan, Elvis Kuqi of Conway, Elijah Swiger of Donaldson, Isaiah Swiger of Donaldson and Kanryn Elizabeth Swiger of Malvern, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lone Valley Cemetery near Hatfield with Brother Ron Tilley officiating. Visitation will be general. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.
