February 2, 1945 – September 29, 2017
Allen Christopher Angers, born February 22, 1945, passed from this world on Friday, September 29, 2017 while camping on a picturesque mountaintop with his devoted wife of 52 years, the former Jacqueline Crochet. They were returning from an extended camping trip in Colorado where they enjoyed seeing wildlife and the changing aspens.

He was also a devoted friend and was affectionately known to many as “Snow.” He was always available to lend a hand to anyone in need. He retired from Hilcorp Energy and spent his days reconnecting with his old CHS friends, going out to Stan’s camp in the Basin, swapping stories at Doucet’s Grocery in Butte La Rose, and keeping up with his family and many friends. He never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing his vast experiences with everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Allen and Rita Patout Angers; his in laws, John and Amy Crochet; and his sister in law, Rosie Jumonville Crochet.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters; Katherine Angers of Loreauville, Lee Angers of El Paso, Texas, and Joan Leece and her husband, David, of Benton, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters in law, Patrick and Donna Angers of Youngsville, and Allen and Phyllis Angers of Lafayette; four sisters and brothers in law, Sally and Ken Judice of New Braunfels, Texas, Carolyn and Paul Hebert of Lafayette, Mary and Eddie Collins of Lafayette, and Nancy and Dr. Phillip Stelly of Carencro; four grandchildren, Trey and his wife Brittany Scarabin of Loreauville, Mary Leece, of Waco, Texas, Christopher Leece, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Rose Leece, of Benton, Arkansas; and one great grandchild, Rhett Scarabin.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Mena Regional Medical Center in Mena, Arkansas for their extraordinary treatment and compassion.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 7, 2017 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and the funeral mass will be at 11:00. Cremation services are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
