Iona Elise Bryan Deramus Obituary

Iona Elise Bryan Deramus age 89, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Marion, Arkansas.
Iona was born in Eagleton, Arkansas on March 6, 1928 to the late William Wesley Bryan and the late Clara Elizabeth Heath Bryan. She was married to the late Glen Deramus for 66 years. Iona worked 18 years at the Renova Shirt Factory, 5 years as a lunch room supervisor for Acorn Schools, and finished her career as a nurse at Mena Hospital and Dr. David Fried’s office for 26 years. She was involved with the nursery at First Baptist Church for over 25 years. Above all Iona loved God, and her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great grandmother, sister and friend to all.
She is survived by sons: Tommy Deramus and wife Fran of Round Rock, Texas and Billy Deramus and husband Emanuel Cornelio of Dallas, Texas
Daughters: Donna Bushe of Jonesboro, Louisiana and Tammy Harrell and husband Derek of Marion, Arkansas
Sisters: Hazel Columbus of Salinas, California and Pauline Davis of Mena, Arkansas
Eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Clara Bryan, her husband Glen Deramus, sister, Naomi Hughes, a brother Leo Bryan and two half-brothers Alfred Bryan and Everett Bryan.
Funeral service will be Saturday, December 2, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Beasley Wood Chapel with Brother Roger Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Pallbearers will be Derek Harrell, Austin Harrell, Jimmy Standridge, Jacob Standridge, Jared Standridge, Arden Deramus, Jake Deramus, and Steven Hogan.
Honorary pallbearer will be Emanuel Cornelio.
Family and friends visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2017 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Beasley Wood.
