FCC Applications

On November 9, 2021, Community Radio, Inc., LICENSEE of KAWX-LP, 93.1 FM,Mena, Arkansas, filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission for a new Non Commercial FM Station. 

 

On December 22, 2021 the Federal Communications Commission granted a Construction Permit to Community Radio, Inc. for the purpose of building a Class A FM, non commercial, full power radio station in Mena, AR to operate on 89.3 MHz with an Effective Radiated Power of 1,800 Watts. 

 

On January 31, 2023 at 11:59 PM Community Radio, Inc. surrendered the license for KAWX-LP 93.1 FM, and then at 12:00 AM on February 1, 2023 began broadcasting as a full power, non commercial FM station at 89.3 FM with the call sign KAWX.

 

Community Radio, Inc. recently transferred control of our FM translator station K235DM 94.9 to Educational Media Foundation. This station now has K-Love programming and we partner with them locally providing tower space and technical support.
