SUNDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE FROM NIDEC: "As of this morning, we have received the test results from our employees who were tested for Covid-19. ALL TEST RESULTS WERE NEGATIVE! We have been given the clearance to resume all Mena Plant operations effective Monday, March 23rd. This is for all shifts." 3-22-20
After a COVID-19 (coronavirus) scare at Mena's Nidec (US Motors) plant prompting plant management to close the plant, the follow statement was released Saturday around noon:
"As a precautionary measure, the Mena Plant will remain closed through Monday, March 23rd.
Nidec management will develop a Plant reopening strategy. Updates will be communicated as the situation is evaluated. We will follow the published guidelines from the Arkansas Department of Health and the CDC.
The health and well being of our employees and community is our top priority."
No additional information has been released to the public.
