The Polk County Quorum Court will meet Tuesday, April 28th for their regular monthly session. The meeting will be held in the courtroom of the Polk County Courthouse starting at 6:00 p.m. Justices of the Peace and others will have their temperature checked before entering and seating will be arranged to support distancing as a precaution.
The Quorum Court did not meet in March due to the COVID-10 Pandemic.
In addition to regular business, JPs will consider a resolution for the issuance of bonds for financing facilities that will be useful in securing or developing industry withing the county, consider a resolution authorizing application for a ACEDP Grant, discuss items deleted from the county inventory and items sold at auction, and and discuss the Legislative Audit for 2018 of Polk County.
Also at the meeting will be representatives of Today's Power, Inc., a company owned by electric cooperatives in the state, including Rich Mountain Electric. The Quorum Court will be asked to consider a resolution that will be allow for a reduction of taxes on a solar farm being built near Mena.
