Governor Hutchinson To Hold Last Daily COVID-19 Briefing In Mena Friday, September 11th

Governor Asa Hutchinson will provide an update to the media in Mena Friday afternoon, September 11th, regarding Arkansas’s COVID-19 response. The briefing will be the last of the daily briefings that started earlier in the year and were originally intended to update the media about the pandemic, but have evolved into a general briefing and press conference about many things involving many department heads and state officials.

A spokesperson for the Governor's office said that there was no particular reason that the last briefing was being held in Mena.

The Governor stated today when announcing the end of the daily briefings that this does not mean the emergency has ended and that there will be weekly or "as needed" briefings as long as necessary.

The last briefing will be at 1:30 p.m. in Carver Grand Hall of the Ouachita Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain, 1100 College Drive.
