Floyd Pollard Sr., age 94, of Smithville, Oklahoma died on Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born on Thursday, November 4, 1926 to Jim and Ada Pollard in Octavia, Oklahoma.
Floyd was a pleasant and soft spoken man who loved his family and being outdoors. He made a living as a machine operator at a silver mining company before retiring. Floyd enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he especially enjoyed catfishing. He liked listening to country music and anything sang by George Jones. Floyd was a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Vealey Pollard; and two brothers, Tom Pollard and Hack Haskell.
He is survived by two sons, Floyd O. Pollard Jr. of Cataldo, Idaho and Floyd T. Pollard III of Smithville, Oklahoma; five daughters, Ann Nash and husband Lee of Idaho, Sandy Duree and husband Dilwyn of Moore, Oklahoma, Sally Spencer of Norman, Oklahoma, Michelle Pollard and Tammy Cartwright; one brother, Cleadus; three sisters, Evelyn, Jo, and Mabel; numerous grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Pollard III, , Todd Bell Sr., Todd Bell Jr., Gene Bell, Johnny Pogue and Dilwyn Duree.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Bell, Floyd O. Pollard, Floyd Streetman and Lanny Pollard.
A graveside service will be Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Watson Cemetery in Watson, Oklahoma under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in Mena, Arkansas.
