Warren Schafer Obituary

Warren Schafer went to meet the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 surrounded by his family.


Warren was a passionate man who loved his Lord, his family and country. He studied the Bible daily and mentored many, enriching their faith in the Lord. He always said, “You can’t threaten me with Heaven”. He has won the battle and is now where he always longed to be. He will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know him.


He is survived by wife: Lynette Schafer

Grandson: Brian Schafer


Granddaughter: Monica Schafer


Great-grandson: Jonathen Schafer.

He was preceded to the Lord by his father Ralph Schafer, mother Esther Schafer, uncle James Schafer, and aunt Viola Rhodes.


A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be Saturday, September 7th , 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Mena with Brother Gary Garrett and Brother Victor Rowell officiating. 


Arrangements were made under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Randy Thomas Sevastos Obituary

Randy Thomas Sevastos age 54 of Wickes, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in Wickes.

Randy was born on August 17, 1965 in Rockford, Illinois to the late George Sevastos and the Charlene Krantz Sevastos. He loved watching sports especially the Chicago Cubs and the Razorbacks. His favorite show was Dukes of Hazard especially “General Lee”. One of his favorite foods was a McDonalds hamburger He enjoyed playing board games and spending time with his family and friends. Above all he loved God. Randy was a loving and kind son, nephew, cousin and friend.

He is survived by mother: Charlene Sevastos of Wickes, Arkansas

Brother: Michael Sevastos of Wickes, Arkansas

Aunt: Pamela Lopez and husband Jaime of Wickes, Arkansas

Best friends: John, Scott, Rick, and Shirley Frachiseur

Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father George Sevastos, sister Cathy Hamilton, grandmother Willie Krantz, and grandfather Chris Sevastos.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wickes Church of the Nazarene in Wickes. Interment will follow in the Daniel Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Robert Michael Kling Obituary

Robert Michael Kling

March 27, 1950 - August 25, 2019

 

Robert Michael Kling, age 69, of Mena, Arkansas died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at his home. He was born on Monday, March 27, 1950 to James B. and Viola Ellen Weis Kling in Austin City, Minnesota.

Robert lived his life by the Golden Rule. He served proudly in the United States Navy and was of the Catholic faith. Robert spent 33 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Washakie County, Wyoming. Robert was given a Purple Heart from the Sheriff's Department as well as a Life Saving award for saving a man while serving in the line of duty. He served proudly and took his job and responsibility seriously. He enjoyed shooting, fishing and the outdoors and loved his wife with all his heart. Robert was a loving husband, brother, uncle and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Robert Kling; one brother, Richard Kling; and one sister Joyce Jones.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janet King of Mena; and one sister, Joan James of San Diego, California; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Damion Trae Butler Obituary

Mr. Damion Trae Butler, age 18, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at his home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.


He was born on October 2, 2000, in Talihina, Oklahoma to his mother Heather Carney and the late Steven Butler. Damion loved to listen to music and play video games, music was his passion. He also enjoyed going out and shooting, especially target practice. Damion was an avid artist; he liked to draw and write. One of his passions was doing research, on several different topics. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew him.

 

He will be dearly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his two fathers, Steven Butler and Neil Parish.


Services will be held at Big Lick Church in Smithville on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with minister Brother George Speers officiating. Internment will follow at Smithville Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.


The Choctaw Community Center will be serving lunch before service. All are welcome.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Hunter, Garrett Kuhl, Trenton Dees, Jerome Carney, David Hoyle, and Bryce Holt.


Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Boyanton, who is currently serving his country on a Navy ship.

November 24, 1970 - August 18, 2019

 

George James Ralph, age 48, of Mena, Arkansas died Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Cove. He was born on Tuesday, November, 1970 to James Davis and Peggy Jean Bucklou Ralph in Gravette, Arkansas.

George was a man that loved the outdoors and going camping and going jet skiing with friends and family. He loved spending time with his family and his special nieces and nephews. George worked 12 years for Wal-Mart as a supervisor. He enjoyed working there and seeing everyone in the community. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lucky Elder. 

George is survived by his wife Gwenda Ralph of Mena; two daughters, Keleka Ralph o and Amanda Ralph both of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two brother, ABear Elder of Mena and James Ralph of Mena; three sisters, Colleen Bingham of Pryor, Oklahoma, Lilly Ralph of Potter and Emma Sullins of Morris, Oklahoma; special nieces and nephews, Tylor Ralph of West Texas, Christina Goad of Westfork, Arkansas, Angelina Ralph of Mena, James Ralph III of Mena, Joseph Wright of Mena and Jayce Ralph of Mena; several other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Suellen Sullivan Obituary

Suellen Sullivan age 77 of Wickes, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
 
She was born on November 11, 1941 in Rogers, Arkansas to the late Richard and Hazel Rice Bright. Suellen was married for 30 years to the late Harrison Sullivan. She was a member of the Wickes Nazarene Church and dearly loved the people. Suellen loved to sew and work in her yard. One of her passions was to cook and visit friends and families, when they couldn’t get out. Above all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were her pride and joy. Suellen was a wonderful and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by all. 

She is survived by daughters: DeLynn and Spanky Hale of Highfill, Arkansas and SheriLe and Thomas James of Wickes, Arkansas

Rhonda Blair age 61 of Mena, Arkansas passed away at her home at Old Dallas on August 20, 2019.

She was born on August 19, 1958 in Mena, Arkansas to Dolena Love and the late Leo Bryan. She was married to the love of her life Doug Blair for 43 years. She enjoyed watching the Food Network and riding her side by side with friends. Rhonda was owner of Blair-Air Interiors where she worked alongside of her husband Doug and son. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be dearly be missed all that knew and loved her.

Lourrine Tibbs Lance Obituary

Lourrine Lance age 90, of Mena, Arkansas went to her heavenly home Monday, August 19, 2019 in Mena. 

Lourrine was born on November 14, 1928 in Board Camp, Arkansas to the late Loyd Tibbs and the late Martha Burnette Tibbs. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and working in her garden. Lourrine loved cooking and was an excellent cook, treating her family and friends with delicious homecooked meals. She loved her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the highlight of her life. Above all she adored and loved doing God’s work as a home missionary and planting churches in the community. Lourrine was a loving pastor’s wife and was dedicated to work beside him. She was everyone’s “Granny” and was also known as “Blue Eyes”. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. 

She is survived by daughter: Violet Sue Hopper and husband James of Hatfield, Arkansas

Lucille S. Self, age 80 of Mena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 in Mena, Arkansas.

She was born on May 15, 1939 in Cairo, Iowa to the late Phillip Evans and Lucille Pontzius Evans. Lucille loved to fish. She was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother. She will be dearly missed.

Bette Ann McRee Obituary

Bette Ann McRee, age 86 passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Bette Ann Watkins was born November 10, 1932 to Edward and Helen Watkins in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Raised in Mena, she was a 1950 graduate of Mena High School and attended Stephens College and the University of Arkansas.

She was a talented musician and composer, playing both the organ and piano and was the organist for the First Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years. She composed and published two contatas based on scriptures: The Beatitudes and Savior of Love, both of which were performed in Mena and throughout the country.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Ben Edward Redman, and step-son Jim McRee. 

She is survived by husband: Kenneth McRee of the home

August 8, 1947 - August 15, 2019

 

Edwin "Bud" Benjamin Keith Jr., age 72, of Mena, Arkansas died Thursday, August 15, 2019 at his home. He was born on Friday, August 8, 1947 to Edwin Benjamin Sr. and Elsie Lou Fountain Keith in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Bud was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mena and his religious service was very important to him. He ran multiple businesses in his life, from janitorial services to landscaping, and worked as a game warden and USPS rural mail carrier for many years. Bud was a gentle soul who was always kind and optimistic. He truly believed the best of everyone. He enjoyed fishing, animal watching, chasing storms, and anything outdoors. Bud liked all types of music, but he loved Bluegrass. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and there was never a doubt how much he loved his wife and family. He always liked to joke with his kids and grandkids, using his clever wordplay to make them laugh. Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cathy Jo Keith of Mena; two daughters and sons in law, Angela and Chad Dixon of Boles, Arkansas, and Kimberley and Chris Carson of Wickes; two sisters and brothers in law, Dottie Lou and Mike Buffington of Fayetteville, and Elizabeth Ann and Glenn Nichols of Pittsburg, Kansas; six grandchildren, Hayden Dixon, Zachery Taylor, Saleen Dixon, David Carson, Michael Carson, and Jeremy Carson; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Wyona Abbott Obituary

Wyona Abbott age 76 of Mena passed away Monday, August 12, 2019 in Mena.

She was born on November 29, 1942 in Poteau, Oklahoma to the late Homer Rogers and the late Dorthay Patterson Rogers.

Wyona was a devout Christian and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mena. She served as the organist and led the music ministry at St. Agnes for over 40 years.

She and her husband Jim owned and operated Coast to Coast after her dad’s retirement in 1982. Wyona had a talent for selecting unique merchandise and together she and Jim developed and customized the store’s giftware sales.

Wyona was a longtime member of the Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed quilting, harmonizing with her dad and gathering with beloved friends and classmates from the MHS Class of 1960.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Dorthay Rogers, an infant son Patrick Lynn Abbott, and one grandson Joshua Abbott.

She is survived by husband: Jim Abbott of 58 years

Visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2019 6:00 p.m. with Rosary being said at 7:00 p.m. at Beasley Wood Funeral Home.

Jerry W. Foster age 89 of Mena, Arkansas passed away Monday August 12, 2019 in Mena, Arkansas.

Jerry was born in Oden, Arkansas on August 4, 1930 to the late Jasper Foster and the late Cornelia Wilhite Foster. He was married for 65 years to the late Wanda Foster. Jerry worked in the timber and logging business and was a mechanic. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed tying his own jigs. Jerry loved to work in his garden and canned the bounties of food. He thoroughly enjoyed going to the cabin with Wanda and his family. In Jerrys home there was always westerns or Wheel of Fortune on his TV. Above all he was a family man, a good father to his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by daughters: Charlotte Foster of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Sheila Hicks and husband Mike of Mineral Springs, Arkansas

Maria Florella Miller

January 25, 1945 - August 8, 2019

 

Maria Florella Miller, age 74, of Cove, Arkansas died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at her home. She was born on Thursday, January 25, 1945 to Jose Daniel and Crisofora Jaramillo Olguin in Jarales, New Mexico.

Maria was a member of Christ's Church in Cove and regularly taught Sunday school and bible study. Her faith and family meant everything to her and gave her great joy. Maria spent much of her life farming and ten years as a USPS mail carrier in Cove. She was proud to be a classroom grandparent at Wickes and Vandervoort and she loved to read and cook, especially her delicious enchiladas. She was feisty and fun. She is someone you wanted on your side. Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Daniel Olguin and Ernesto Olguin; and one sister, Aurelia Jaramillo.

Maria is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Wayne Miller of Cove; two sons and daughter in law, Lonnie and Deanna Miller of Cove, and Paul Miller of Cove; one daughter and son in law, Le-Ann and Robby Holmes of Mena; five sisters, Angelina Sanchez (Sonny) of Jarales, New Mexico, Perfilia Ulibarri (Robert) of Veguita, New Mexico, Celina Abeyta (Abran) of Jarales, New Mexico, Viola Vaisa (Steve) of Valencia, New Mexico, and Gloria Cordova of Belen, New Mexico; one brother, Frank Olguin (Tammy) of Jarales, New Mexico; nine grandchildren, Brooke Sanchez (Hugo) of Mena, Joseph Miller (Taylor) of Cove, Harley Burgett (Tyler) of Hoxie, Gene Miller of Hoxie, J.T. Miller of Cove, Ashton Miller of Horatio, Nick Holmes of Mena, Jared Holmes of Fort Smith, and Caleb Holmes of Mena; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Christ's Church in Cove, Arkansas. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Maria was a 17 year breast cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to UAMS Cancer Research at 4301 W. Markham Street, #716, Little Rock, AR 72205.

James (Jim) D. Phillips, age 84 of Mena passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 in Hot Springs, Arkansas

Jim was born January 1, 1935 in Rector, Arkansas to the late Thomas Jefferson Phillips and Lavada Belle Eagle Phillips. He was married to the late Judy Ann Phillips, born in Gladewater, Texas. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a Realtor with Century 21 for many years and never met a stranger. He liked camping and spent several winters in Mission, Texas. Jim enjoyed horseback riding, golf and bowling with family and friends. He loved playing and listening to music, country and bluegrass, and going to Turkey Track festival in Waldron. Above all, Jim loved and adored his family and friends. He was a loving and dedicated father, papa, great grandfather and a friend to all who knew him and will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by son: Kevin Ray Phillips and wife Terah of Mena, Arkansas

Daughter: Kelli Diane Hiaumet and husband Billy Joe of Oden, Arkansas

Grandchildren: Shelby Arceneau, Colton Phillips, Nicole Renard, Dustin Hiaumet and wife Beth, Joe Hiaumet

Funeral will be Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Northside Church of Christ in Mena with Brother Jeremy Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Cherry Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Visitation will be Monday August 12, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Beasley-Wood.

June 25, 1941 - August 8, 2019

Ronald Warren Elliott, age 78, of Mena, died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Heart of Hospice in Fort Smith, Arkansas he was born on Wednesday, June 25, 1941 to Floyd Ezra and Edith May Roach Elliott in Little Blue, Missouri. 

Ron was a Godly man and raised his family in a Christian home where Christ was taught and professed. He was a minister for many years of Jesus Christ and preached at Faith Tabernacle Church in Potter for some time. He loved serving the Lord and pointing others to Christ. Ron loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He also was an avid CBer and tinkerer. Ron woke up everyday wanting to work hard and provide for his family. He owned his own gravel truck for many years, fixing many people's driveways. Ron was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Richard Elliott, Eddie Elliott and Larry Elliott and three sisters, Patricia Wilson, Sharon Olaughlin and Jaqueline Willis. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Linda Elliott of Mena; two sons and daughters in law, Jonathan and Roxann Elliott of Mena and Timothy and Kara Elliott of Hot Springs; three daughters and sons in law, Amanda and John Morris of Conway, Sharon and Shawn Bollmeyer of Mena and Stephanie Bagley of Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Deborah Parker of Blue Springs, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Nunley Cemetery under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Elliot, Caleb Foreman, Christopher Bollmeyer, Cody Bollmeyer, Eric Elliot, Aaron Reed, Robert Doty and Jacob Doty.

James "Jim" W. Alley

February 4, 1937 - August 5, 2019

 

James W. "Jim" Alley, age 82, of Mena, Arkansas died Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Montgomery County Nursing Home. He was born on Thursday, February 4, 1937 to Alfred David and Mary Elizabeth Golden Alley in Mena, Arkansas.

Jim was a good friend to many and a Christian. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mena and served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Jim served in the United States Navy for twenty years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer Machinery Repairman. He later worked at U.S. Electrical Motors Corporation for 10 years. Jim then became the Instructor of Machine Tool Technology at Rich Mountain Community College for the next twenty years and cemented a legacy of being a wonderful friend and great mentor. After retirement, he co-owned and operated B J Machining Inc. He received great joy from teaching Bible classes, gardening, hunting, fishing and reading. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eva Dell Alley of Mena; his daughter, Reta Lapenter of Mena; one son and daughter in law, Randal and Debbie Alley of Hatfield; his daughter, Rhonda Tranter of Mena and fiance', Bobby Faulkner of Huntsville, Alabama; one brother and sister in law, David and Kay Alley of Mena; one sister and brother in law, Belva and E. Wayne McDaniel of Mena; five grandchildren, Jacob Alley of Mena, Justin Lapenter of Ashland, Wisconsin, Tabitha Ervin of Charleston, Arkansas, Caleb Tranter of Denver, Colorado, and Rachel Walsh of Burlington, Iowa; four great grandchildren, Jacob Dill of Alabama, Rebel and Radley Ervin of Charleston, Arkansas, and Kai Lapenter of El Prado, New Mexico; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salem Baptist Church in Mena (Nunley), Arkansas with Brother Steve Ellison officiating. Interment will follow at the Board Camp Cemetery in Board Camp, Arkansas. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Harold Coogan, Eddie Lunsford, Jonathan Lunsford, Richard Martin, Andy Brown, and Jim Aleshire.

Mrs. Janice Marae Clawson Obituary

Mrs. Janice Marae Clawson, age 78, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Mena.

She was born on February 18, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Chester Fredrick Hart and the late Janie Catherine Owens Hart. She was married to James Emmett Clawson and was a homemaker. She was an excellent mother and step-mother. The family would like to thank the visiting nurses, hospice, Rich Mountain Nursing and Rehab, the ER and ICU departments, Dr. Henderson, and nurse Lindsey Stokes at Mena Regional Health System. Special thanks go out to her church family at Bible Believer’s Baptist Church for all the continued prayers.

Mrs. Clawson was sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home. No services are scheduled at this time.

Judy Dianne Lawrence Lee age 70 of Mena,Arkansas passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 in DeQueen.

Judy was born on September 20, 1948 in DeQueen, Arkansas to the late Albert Clinton Lawrence and the late Thelma Eva Tipton Lawrence. She was married to the late Glenn Gaylon Lee until his passing. Judy enjoyed working in her flower garden, doing arts and crafts and light duty carpentry work. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. 

She is survived by sons: Kevin Nault and wife Charlotte of Mena, Arkansas and Chris Lee and wife Jackie of Bentonville, Arkansas

Grandchildren: Zach and Maddie Lee of Bentonville, Arkansas and Beaux and Payton Vaughn of Bentonville, Arkansas

Sister: Wanda Sue Harrison of Greenwood, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers.

Graveside service will be Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Dallas Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

November 6, 1931 - August 2, 2019

 

Doreen A. Baird - Durham age 87 a residence of Wickes, Arkansas left her earthly life on August 2, 2019 at her home in Wickes with her daughter at her side to continue her spiritual life with those that have already crossed over. She was born November 6, 1931. She was married to William T. Baird in Carlsbad, California and also married to Charles Durham of Oceanside, California.

Doreen worked in banks first as teller then moved on up the ladder into a supervisory position she loved to move around and she did some traveling through her life time. She did attend Rich Mountain for two years with her granddaughter Michelle and they both then moved on to SAU at Magnolia, Arkansas and she graduated with a double major with high honors at the age of 65. She then started a magazine with her daughter Suzanne placing it out for free to anyone who might want to explore spiritual and herbal subjects. Then later her, her daughter and son in law Timothy Allen Sharp started a publishing company called Eyes Wide Open publishing. They wrote and published several books as well as publishing other writers in the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Howard Kelley of Oceanside, California and both of her husbands.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Wright-Sharp of Wickes, Arkansas and her son, Bill Baird of Kamiah, Idaho; several grandchildren, Franklin G. Wright and wife, Betsy, daughters, Alex Wright and Kayla Herlacher; son, Noah from Lewiston, Idaho, John G. Wright wife, Dianna and son, Levi and daughters, Grace, Faith and Stephane from Lewiston, Idaho and Joseph G. Wright from Wickes, Arkansas; Michelle D. Wright-Catalan husband and her two sons all from Virginia. William Sebastian Sharp and wife, Heather and their children, Dylan, Ava, and Dairen from North Carolina, Aurora Kristyn Sharp from Wickes, Arkansas; Elisa Baird- two boys Brycin and Mason all from Kamiah, Idaho; Breann Baird, Shanae, Jessie Baird of Kamiah, Idaho; as well as friends Cari Bush-Barrett and Nancee Kaiden and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Doreen was sent for cremation with services entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. There are no plans for a memorial service at her request.

Judy Carolyn Ryan Smith Obituary

Judy Carolyn Ryan Smith, age 69 of Mena, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 in Fort Smith.

She was born October 31, 1949 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Clyde Clinton Ryan and Jimmie Lou Martin Ryan Wood. She worked as a cook at Bob & Wanda’s Restaurant in Barling, Arkansas where she considered her co-workers as family. Judy adored her dogs. She cooked for them and coddled them as if they were her children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Survivors are son: Billy Joe McLain and wife Mary

Sisters: Shirley Ryan Torres, Deana Willhite and Martha Pruitt
