Doris Jane Dixon, age 62, of Hatton, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on Monday, May 12, 1958 to Jessie Charles and Faye Lucille Martin Broach in Mena, Arkansas.

Doris was a beloved teacher at Cove and Cossatot River Schools for thirty years. She was very proud of the work she did and the difference she made in her student's lives. She liked mowing her grass and gardening, and keeping the yard nice. Her family was very special to her. Doris loved making them her Navajo Tacos and yeast rolls just as much as they enjoyed eating them. Doris was a loving wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jessie Broach, Alfred Broach, and Tom Broach; and one sister, Annie Casey.

Doris is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, DeWayne Dixon of Hatton; two sons and daughters in law, Charles and Krisi Dixon of Cove, and Todd and Nonie Dixon of Hatton; two daughters and sons in law, Linda and Kevin Terry of Hatton, and Mary and Chris Martinez of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; two brothers, Carl Broach of Cove, and Glen Broach of Cove; six sisters, Betty Holley of Dove Creek, Colorado, Fran Bates of Hatton, Alice Catherwood of Plunketteville, Oklahoma, Peggy Wilkinson of Hatton, Edna Dixon of Waldron, and Margaret Miller of Cove; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; honorary brother, Todd Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; honorary sister, Gale Kuykendall of Cove; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Westview Cemetery in Cove with Don Youngblood and Tim Smedley officiating. No visitation is planned. Burial arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral in Mena, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Fall, Jordan Bond, Justin Bond, David Dixon, Shawn Pollard, and Steven Green.

Larry Carl Benjamin Obituary

Larry Carl Benjamin, age 73, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020, at his home surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born September 28, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas. Larry was raised on the family farm near Abernathy, Texas, before moving to Mena, Arkansas, and attending Acorn High School until his graduation in 1967. He was united in marriage with Stella Hill, his high school sweetheart and love of his life on January 20, 1968. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for the USDA’s Soil Conservation Service, now the Natural Resources Conservation Service, after being inspired by the lessons and stories he learned from his grandfather about surviving the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. After his retirement, Larry spent many years with his wife at their cabin in Blackfork, Arkansas, where he enjoyed hiking in the woods, roasting marshmallows, and riding 4-wheelers with his family. He served as a deacon of the Friendship Baptist Church as well as a board member of the Blackfork Volunteer Fire Department. Larry took great pleasure growing and canning vegetables from his garden, which he would often share with other neighbors in the community. He also enjoyed watching sports with his family, listening to old country songs, and talking to everyone he met. Above all, Larry loved the Lord. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Benjamin, his sons Rick Benjamin and wife Maureen of Forney, Texas, Ronnie Benjamin and wife Sherry of Mena, Arkansas, and Chad Benjamin of Floydada, Texas; Daughter Christy Robinson of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren Shane Benjamin, Brennah Robinson, Adam Benjamin, Aubrey Robinson, Katherine Benjamin and Levi Benjamin; Brothers Jerry Benjamin and John Benjamin and step-brother Bud Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Bain and his stepbrother Neil Benjamin.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Haw Creek Cemetery in Black Fork, Arkansas. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Beasley Wood Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, October 28, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dorothy "Dottie" Corinne McKinney

August 17, 1916 - October 25, 2020

 

Dorothy (Dottie) Corinne McKinney, age 104, of Board Camp, Arkansas, passed from this life to Heaven on Sunday, October 25, 2020. She was born on August 17, 1916, to Ralph Haines and Orva Corinne (Breneman) McKinley, in Ravenna, Ohio.

After high school graduation in 1934, Dorothy worked as a clerk for the B&O Railroad. In 1945, she married WWII Army Veteran Thomas (Tom) McKinney of McHenry, Kentucky. Two daughters were born to them. In 1965, they moved from Ohio to Los Angeles, California, where jobs were plentiful, and they worked until retirement in 1981. They retired to Redding, CA, to be near their grandchildren. In 2006, they moved to Board Camp to spend their last years in the care of daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Orville Murphy.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and three sisters Margaret, Janette and Betty, all of Ohio.

She is survived by daughter Cheryl and Orville Murphy of Board Camp; her daughter Brenda McKinney of Millville, CA; 5 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Elite Hospice and Rich Mountain Nursing & Rehab of Mena, Arkansas, for their wonderful care of Dorothy.

Arrangements entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home of Mena. There is no service planned. Dorothy's cremains will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Tom, at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding, California, with family in attendance.

Max Jones Obituary

 

Max Jones

October 18, 1936 - October 25, 2020

 

Max Jones, age 84, of Mena, died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born on Sunday, October 18, 1936 to Guy and Mable Irene Hunsaker Jones in Grannis, Arkansas.

Max was a faithful Christian who served his Lord humbly and his country proudly. Max served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958 and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Arkansas Mayor's Association, the National Association of Purchasing Agents, former member of the First Baptist Church in Grannis, Arkansas, Colleyville, Texas, and Mena, Arkansas and an active member of the Christ's Community Fellowship in Mena. His philosophy for life was always to keep it simple. He was very proud of his career and took great pride in the work he did. His family was always his top priority and he loved them all to the very end. Max was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joel Jones and Winfred Jones.

Max is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Inez Thomas Jones of Mena; one son, Jeffrey Max Jones and wife, Marion Steers Jones of Lilburn, Georgia; and daughter, Julie Ann Jones of Bryant, Arkansas; sister, Barbara Kendrick of Lenexa, Kansas; five grandchildren, Corrie Appelbaum of Oakland, California, Steven Jones of Prosper, Texas, Emily Langley of Dunwoody, Georgia, Nathan Jones of San Mateo, California, and Aspen Trevino of Grand Prairie, Texas; one great granddaughter, Madeline Appelbaum of Oakland, California; and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 30, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Christ's Community Fellowship in Mena. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena. Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 6-8 PM at the Bowser Family Funeral Home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made to Gideons International, PO Box 781, Mena, AR 71953.

Paul Henry Mahoney Obituary

Paul Henry Mahoney

June 10, 1993 - October 19, 2020

 

Paul Henry Mahoney, beloved son of John and Laura Mahoney and brother of Mark and John Ross, returned to his Heavenly Father on October 19, 2020 in Mena, Arkansas. Paul was raised in the Catholic faith and knew Jesus was his Savior.

Paul was born on June 10, 1993 in Newport News, Virginia. His childhood was spent in rural western New York where he learned to hunt, fish and swim. Intelligent and tender hearted, Paul excelled in school. His high school years were busy with honor society and being a member of the football and wrestling teams. Making people laugh, especially his family, was on of his favorite pastimes. Others included watching goofy comedies, reading Stephen King novels, and listening to Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead.

As a college student, Paul earned an Associate Degree in Healthcare. After moving to Mena two years ago, he was employed as a CNC operator at Nidec.

Paul was a large man with a generous tender heart and a shy demeanor. One of his last acts was to save his Grandma Sheila from a house fire which destroyed her home. He was a kind man who will be sorely missed, particularly by his family.

Paul Henry Mahoney is survived by his parents, John and Laura Mahoney of Mena, brother, Mark and wife, Maegen and niece, Jenny Grace of Selma, North Carolina, brother, John Ross Mahoney III (Trey) of Alma, Arkansas, grandparents, Doug and Joyce Warner of New York, Sheila Warner of Mena and John and Julie Mahoney of Mena. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, great aunts, and uncles. Last, but not least, by his faithful dog, Clyde.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Terry Dean Spurling Obituary

Terry Dean Spurling, age 58, of DeQueen, Arkansas formerly of Mena, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in DeQueen, Arkansas.

He was born August 6, 1962 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Clyde Spurling, Sr., and the late Aline Pate Spurling. Terry was a truck driver by profession. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, tinkering with cars and was always up for a good prank. He adored his family and treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children. Above all, Terry loved the Lord. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his brothers: Clyde Spurling, Jr., and Jerry Wayne Spurling, his sisters: Mary Umphrey, Wanda Bennett, Vinia Keeler, and Shelia Soria. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Dallas Cemetery in the Old Dallas community. Interment will follow under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, October 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

Howard Henry Elliott, age 73, of Mena, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Mena Regional Health System. He was born on Thursday, February 20, 1947 to Emmett Charles and Gisela Louise Elsinger Elliott in Sondershausen, Germany.

Howard proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and National Guard as a Radioman during Vietnam. He was a collector of many interesting things and was a Shortwave Radio Amateur enthusiast. Howard was a loving husband and brother and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Howard is survived by his wife, Katie Elliott of Mena; and one brother, Dwight Elliott of Westminster, California; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Helen Filer Monaco Obituary

Helen Filer Monaco, age 98, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 in Fort Smith.

She was born September 24, 1922 in Arcade, New York to the late Stanley Earl Filer and the late Alice Helen Daly Filer. Mrs. Monaco worked at Wal-Mart (for 25 years) and enjoyed working on the fashion show. She loved to go for walks and the biggest thrill of her life and her everything was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her sons: Joseph Thomas Monaco and Marsha Daws and Thomas James Monaco and wife Lisa; grandchildren: Kelly Freeman and husband Cory and Shannon Lyles and husband Cody; great-grandchildren, Braxton Smith, Karson Monaco and Brecken Freeman; special friends, Brad and Andy Fountain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Monaco, 3 brothers, Paul Filer, Bob Filer and Norman Filer and a sister, Joan Storms.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Joseph Shantiraj as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said Tuesday evening, October 20th at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.

Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.

Lisa Dawn Taylor

Lisa Dawn Taylor, age 47, of Boles, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at her home in Boles. She was born on Monday, April 8, 1974 to Samuel Thomas Taylor and Dianna Lee Fiedler Taylor Kulp in Amery, Wisconsin.

Lisa loved her animals and had dogs, cats, chickens and goats. She also loved her job at the Rich Mountain Nursing and Rehab in Mena where she prepared all the meals for the residents there for 16 years. She loved knitting, cross stitching and crocheting. Lisa also her Associates Degree from Rouge Community College in Grant Pass, Oregon. Lisa was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Lisa is survived by her mother and step father, Ben and Dianna Kulp of Boles; her brother, John Taylor of Portland, Oregon; three sisters, Carrol Havens of Honolulu, Hawaii, Denise Ceresco of Houston, Texas and Heather, Weber of Denver, Colorado; three nieces and three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.

Ellen Louise Lawry

Ellen Lawry, age 87, of Keene, Texas, formally of Mena, Arkansas passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Ellen was born in 1933 in Kansas.

In addition to being a devoted and loving mother, Ellen was also accomplished in many different handicrafts and enjoyed sharing her work with others. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God.

It is with thanks and gratitude to those who loved and cared for her that her family can tenderly release Ellen into her eternal resting place in heaven until we are united once again. Ellen looked forward to being with her maker and anyone who knew her, knew this.

Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years. Those left to cherish her memory include four children, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren and many other loved ones who will miss her greatly.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. at the Nunley Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.

Bobby Jack Dowdy, age 79, of Mena, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
 
He was born January 20, 1941 in Langley, Arkansas to the late Raymond Ellis Dowdy and the late Mildred Modene Stracner Dowdy. Bobby was united in marriage to Wanda Miller Dowdy for 60 years. He served in the United States Air Force and was a self- employed business man with rentals and logging being his profession. Bobby was known to be a “jack of all trades”. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and was a talented musician. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be greatly missed.
 
He is survived by his wife Wanda Dowdy, sons Ricky Dowdy and wife Susan, Michael Dowdy, Daughter Sherry Dowdy, grandchildren Chris and wife Sarah, Jonathan, Justin, Robert, Dylan, Cody and Lexi. Great grandchildren Sophie, Samantha, Jayden, Aya, Astera, Callie, Aiden and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
Mr. Dowdy will be sent for cremation under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

Mrs. Myrdith S. Lawrence Obituary

Mrs. Myrdith S. Lawrence, 89, of Mena, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 with her family by her side.

She was born June 25, 1931 to the late Conley Singleton and Candace (Davis) Singleton. Mrs. Lawrence was a registered nurse and the administrator for the Polk County Health Department for many years. She had many hobbies including crocheting and knitting as some of her favorites. Myrdith was a volunteer for the 9th Street Ministries and a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by son: James C. Lawrence and wife Shirley

Daughter: Sue Cavner and husband James

Mrs. Helen Anita Barnett Belt

Mrs. Helen Anita Barnett Belt, age 92, of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Texarkana, Texas.

Helen was born February 17, 1928 in Hatfield, Arkansas to the late Lee Preston Barnett and the late Adeline Ola Parham Barnett. She was married to John Thomas Belt, Jr. until his passing. Helen moved to Texarkana where she lived for the past 74 years. She attended Texarkana College, obtaining her degree and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity and was on the Dean’s list as well. Helen retired from her career at Red River Army depot where she was a legal assistant. She traveled with concert ministries across the United States signing at gospel and patriotic venues. Helen was a member of Sugarhill Methodist Church in Texarkana and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post #4562 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. One of the highlights of her life was being able to visit the Holy Land. Nita loved singing and would carry her special gift and her guitar to numerous family gatherings, senior dance centers, senior care facilities and just about anywhere she felt she could bring happiness into someone’s life. She was a people person and never met a stranger. Took pride in her yard and flowering plants. She enjoyed working with arts and crafts projects, winning many awards at the Four States Fair. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great, great grandchild as well as all her extended family unconditionally. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
 
She is survived by her son, John Thomas Belt, III and wife Sandra, daughter, Helen Janice Estes, grandchildren, Greg Estes and wife Meredith of Texarkana, TX, Angela Kinser and husband Troy of Fouke, AR, David Estes and wife Emily of Maud, TX, Alicia Estes Carver and husband Heath of Queen City, TX, Nathan Belt of Sandusky, OH. Great grandchildren, Marissa Keenan, Kelsie Good, Dakota Carver, Ryan Cline, Alex Carver, Will Estes, Jacob Keenan, Camryn Estes, Turner Estes, Clay Estes, Presley Belt, Ellie Estes, Wyatt Kinser, Laurel Estes, Greer Carver. One great-great grandchild, Whittlee Good. Sister, Linda Barnett Lance and husband Charles of Mena, AR. Sisters in law Rebecca Hampton Barnett, Edna Abbott Barnett. Graveside service for Helen Belt will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena, Arkansas. Reverend Jack Smith will be officiating services. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Beasley Wood Chapel from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
 
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Estes, David Estes, Nathan Belt, Dakota Carver, Ryan Cline, Alex Carver, Will Estes, and Jacob Keenan.

Edith O. White, 95, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 in Mena.

She was born January 29, 1925 in Hartley, Arkansas to the late William Schoolfield and the late Estelle Hammer Schoolfield. She was married to the late Roy R. White for over 50 years. She was a longtime member of the Lakeview Baptist Church. She worked at the Renova Shirt Factory and loved antiquing and going to flea markets and was an avid Razorback and  Atlanta Braves fan. She was proud to be a foster grandparent for the Mena School District. Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a friend to all. She will be missed greatly.

She is survived by son: Colin L. White

Grandchildren: Brian White, Leah Cannon, Jared White, Jamie McMahen, Rhonda Sanders, Stacey Southerland, Dillon Harris, Chad Golden, Darcy Dollar, Jason Harris, and Jill Burger

22 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren

Son-in-Law: Roy Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy R. White, son, Jerry White, daughter, Sue Harris, brothers, Lloyd and Carl Schoolfield, and sisters, Vivian Bulger, Jean Sirmon, Maye White, Ada Flemens, Era Flemens and Emma Manasco, daughter-in-law, Hilda White.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beasley Wood Chapel with Brother Buddy Loyd officiating. Interment will follow in White Oak Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home.
 
Visitation will be general.

Pallbearers will be Brian White, Jared White, Chad Golden, Jason Harris, Dillon Harris, and Dustin White. Honorary pallbearer is Dale Schoolfield.

Mrs. Lillie Marilyn Maxwell, age 77, of Mena passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Marilyn was born on March 27, 1943 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Velda Holmes and the late Lela Lunsford Holmes. She was married for 57 years to her husband Donald Ray Maxwell. Marilyn worked for U.S. Motors for 27 years. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Ink and served as the secretary of the Cemetery Board for many years. Marilyn loved to get on the tractor and do farm work. She loved to travel and talk on the phone with her friends, especially, with Norma and Janet. But above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
 
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Maxwell, sons, David Ray Maxwell and wife Wendy and Scott Holmes Maxwell and wife DeDe. Grandchildren, Dillon Maxwell, Rylee Maxwell, Cooper Maxwell, and Molly Maxwell and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Maxwell service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Beasley Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas at 10 A.M. with David Maxwell officiating.
 
Internment will follow at Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2020 from 6-8pm at Beasley Wood Chapel in Mena.

Karen Faye Hamby, age 65, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Ft. Smith.

She was born May 16, 1955 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Houston Mayabb and the late Ruby Armstrong Mayabb. She was a homemaker, and poultry breeder and farmer and worked hard in her chicken houses. Karen loved to bowl and sew and enjoyed hunting arrow heads and rocks. She also loved her sweets and her coffee, and liked to order jewelry, but her favorite thing was to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by sons: Joshua Lee Hamby and wife Jamaica

Daughters: Elizabeth Jane Bond and husband Daniel

Grandchildren: Alex Hamby, Jackson Hamby, and Logan and Reese Bond

Sisters: Linda Lowrimore and Sharon Williams

Nieces: Tina Gibson and family and Sara Emmert and family

Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watson Cemetery in Waston, Oklahoma with Brother Todd Webb officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, October 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bobby Andrew Pullen, age 72, died Sunday, October 11, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on Monday, July 5, 1948 to Andrew Jackson and Madge Lou Deramus Pullen in Mena, Arkansas.

Bobby became a Christian later in life and was baptized. He volunteered during a time of drafting and went in to serve proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He believed that his word was his bond, and he always lived by that value. Bobby worked for the Cimeron Lumber Yard in Hatfield for seventeen years. He enjoyed woodworking, welding, and most of all, working side by side with his Dad. His children and grandchildren were so important to him, and he was very proud of his family. Bobby said his greatest joy was marrying his wife, Pamela. Bobby was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle, and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Billy Ray Pullen.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Pam Pullen of Mena; one son and daughter in law, Andy and Connie Pullen of Wink, Texas; one daughter, Sherry VanZant of Medlin, Texas; one brother, Jeff Pullen of Mena; one sister, Karen Peek of Vandervoort; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Lois Elizabeth Wagoner, 90, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Ft. Smith.
 
She was born January 21, 1930 in Mena, Arkansas to the late Lytal Harris and the late Nora Ward Harris. She was married to the late James “Cobb” Wagoner and retired from Emerson Motor Corporation. She loved Razorback football, bowling, traveling and loved to play cards with her friends on Saturdays. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by her loving family.
 
She is survived by daughters: Marsha Marie Tapp of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Theresa Ann Cook of Mena, Arkansas
 
4 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson
 
3 step-great grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren
 
Numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lytal and Nora Harris, her husband, James Wagoner, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Sondra Kay Harvey, age 66, of Acorn, Arkansas, died Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home. She was born Monday, August 16, 1954 to Herman Lee and Julia Ann Knox Hill in Black Fork, Arkansas.

Kay was a woman the loved the Lord and her family. She was of the Baptist faith and was saved at a young age. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and singing and listening to music. Kay enjoyed watching the deer and birds from her front porch. She also enjoyed watching western movies. She was an excellent cook and her family loved her waffles and especially her desserts, her Brown and Yellow Pies. Kay loved her Arkansas Razorback Football team. Kay was a loving mother, sister, Gran, aunt and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rocky Harvey; two brothers, Billy Ray Hill and Larry Hill and one sister, Wanda Reichert.

Kay is survived by her son, Michael Harvey of Acorn; her daughters, Sonya Kyle of Mena and Kaylene Harvey of Acorn; three brothers, Gene Hill of Heavener, Oklahoma, Darryl Hill of Page, Oklahoma and Jeff Hill of Clarksville; four sisters, Pat Powell of Mena, Stella Benjamin of Mena, Sue Carter of Mena and Brenda Reel of Bates, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Nicholas Harvey of Fort Smith, Olivia Harvey of Mena, Sonny Harvey of Cove, Mekinzie Kyle of Mena and Braxton Kyle of Mena; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at Black Fork Cemetery near Black Fork, Arkansas under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. Visitation will be Monday, October 5, 2020 from 6-8 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Patricia Anne Fillmore, age 80, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Mena.

She was born October 6, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John Baldwin and the late Margrett Pennebaker Baldwin. Patricia enjoyed reading, watching TV and jigsaw puzzles. She was lovingly known to be a little spitfire; tiny, mighty and Irish. Her vivacious spirit will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her sons William Bushey, Patrick Bushey and Kimm Bushey; her daughters Beverly Parker and husband Wayne, Jeannine Terrell, Kelly Nielsen and husband Gary. Also surviving her are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and her good friend Karla Brown.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Bushey, Sr., son Kenneth Bushey, Jr., brother John Baldwin, grandson Matthew Nielsen and great aunt Helen Baldwin.
