Joseph Keith Savage Obituary

Joseph Keith Savage, age 60, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

 

He was born on Thursday, December 7, 1961, to Leland M. Savage and Lois (Batts) Savage in Kinston, North Carolina. Joseph was a loving man who wore many hats in his lifetime. He joined the Air Force as a young man and became a jet engine mechanic. This would be his job for many years. While serving in the Air Force, Joseph had the opportunity to travel to many countries including Germany and Japan as well as fighting fires in a C130 in Idaho and Hawaii. Joseph was an E5 Sargent and served in Desert Storm. Prior to retiring he received many medals and honors for his service. Among his many awards, Joseph received a good conduct medal as well as an organizational excellence award. It was in the Air Force that Joseph was given the nickname of "Tidy Joe". These two awards would continue to have an impact on the way Joseph lived for the remainder of his life. Joseph was a very organized man and was thought to have been one of the most well mannered and kindest men his family had encountered. He loved everyone and was always looking out for their best interest. Joseph loved his Heavenly Father and was a Priest in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 6 years. He enjoyed sitting on the porch on the swing with his loving wife and son Michael. Joseph found peace in listening to his children talk and watching his grandkids play. He truly felt all was well with the world when they were in his presence. Joseph was passionate about the 2nd Amendment and enjoyed listening to classic rock. He loved to joke and was a classic car enthusiast. Joseph was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents.

 

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Jolina Savage; three sons, Cody Martin and wife Dorothy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Justin Savage and wife Julie of Norman, Oklahoma, and Michael Savage of Mena, Arkansas; three daughters, Jessica Ritter and husband Tim of Weatherford, Texas, Andreana Poeling and husband Rodney of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Danielle Martin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two brothers, Wade Savage and wife Michelle of Semi Valley, California and Dwight Savage and wife Denise of Semi Valley, California; one sister, Deborah Grace of Sequim, Washington; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Mena, Arkansas. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 9:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Sherry Lynne Best Obituary

Mrs. Sherry Lynne Best, age 67, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Mena, Arkansas. She was born March 24, 1955, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the late Jim Turpin and Rowena Bechtel Turpin.

Mrs. Best was a respiratory therapist by profession and loved spending time outdoors, she enjoyed fishing and camping, among other outdoor activities. Additionally, she loved sewing, working crossword puzzles, crocheting, needle work, animals, card games, and bible studies. But above all else she loved spending time with friends and family.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Turpin and Rowena Bechtel Turpin, and by her brother, Larry Ballard. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Roy Best; daughters, Leah Vanderkamp and husband Larry of Cove, Arkansas, Rachel O’Connor and husband Aaron of Whitewood, South Dakota; grandchildren, Tabitha Baum, Kimberlee O’Connor, Elizabeth O’Connor, Haylee O’Connor; brothers, James Turpin and wife Dottie; as well as by her sister-in-law, Cordelia Ballard.

Mrs. Best was sent for cremation under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life, Sunday, May 1, 2022, after church, at the family home.

Dennis Paul Loyd Obituary

Mr. Dennis Paul Loyd, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Texarkana, Arkansas on April 22, 2022, after a courageously fought battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born July 3, 1947, in Wenatchee, Washington, to Paul Loyd Jr. and Helen Whale Loyd who preceded him in death, as well as a brother, Donald Ray Loyd.

He was known as a remarkable guy with a great personality and a great sense of humor always smiling and making people laugh. He never met a stranger and loved going to First Assembly of God Church in Hooks, Texas for the last 32 years. Prior to that time Pleasant Grove Nazarene Church in Cove, Arkansas.

He served in the USAF and was very proud of his Choctaw heritage. He worked at Lone Star Steel in Daingerfield, Texas as an overhead crane operator and later at Red River Army Depot as an inventory clerk in Hooks, Texas, where he retired.

He leaves behind his devoted wife Darlene Loyd of 32 years; 3 children, Sherry Lynn Loyd, James Burton Parsons and wife Donna, and Kim Parsons Brown and husband Tim; grandchildren, Nathaniel James Brown, Audriana Jane Brown (Papaw’s girl, he called her A.J.) and Ashley Parsons; 2 great-grandsons, Noah and Jacob; one sister, Janice Dusseldorp; a special uncle, Leon Loyd; and a host of other family and friends.

Services for Mr. Loyd will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022, at The Pleasant Grove Nazarene Church in Cove, Arkansas. Reverend Louis Smith and Reverend Steve Bradley will be officiating, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Baker Cemetery in Wickes, Arkansas. There will be a formal visitation one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Roger Wilson, Kendall Wilson, Donny Loyd, Travis Miller, Dennis Rowe, and Melvin Parker.

Lucille May Obituary

Mrs. Lucille May, age 87, passed away April 23, 2022, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born September 13, 1934, in Proctor, Oklahoma, to the late John Bailey and Lillie Mae Vaughn.

Mrs. May was united in marriage to Mr. Otis “Doc” May on December 1, 1948, and was married 72 years until his passing in September of 2021. Lucille enjoyed baking, quilting, gardening and spending time outdoors. Additionally, it was said that she made the best fried apple pies.

Mrs. May is preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Otis “Doc” May; beloved sons, James May, Jerry May, and Eugene May; as well as 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her grandchildren, Timmy May and partner, Brandon Holligan, Brandie Simpson, Chris May, Brittany Smith and husband, Zak Smith; daughters-in-law, Yevette, and Debbie; great-grandchildren, Chase Pyle, Alexa Brewer and husband, Billy, Christian Field, Brenden Field, Olivia, Kennedi, Brady, Hayden, Jase, Ryker, Chevelle, Emery, and Tenley; great-great-grandchildren, Kailie, Bentley, Gracie, Reese, and Levi; brothers, Leonard Bailey and wife Virginia; sister-in-law, Allie Walters; as well as several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Jessica Jenai Mann Obituary

Jessica Jenai Mann, age 21, of Cove, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in Hatfield, Arkansas. She was born on Thursday, September 14, 2000 to Claude Everett Elder and LaDonna Michelle Smith in Wellington, Kansas.

 

Jessica was bubbly, funny and so full of life. She radiated brightness and happiness. Jessica had a tender big heart and she loved to have fun with her family. She enjoyed the outdoors and often would ride horses and four wheelers or even just sit by the river and listen to it flow. Jessica also liked to fish and buck hunt. She was very adventurous and could always be counted on to join a road trip to anywhere. She was a very talented cook and just recently made shrimp alfredo, from scratch, for her mother. Jessica was very good at billiards and loved playing in her Mom's tournaments. She liked all kinds of music but her favorite was Country music, she listened very closely to lyrics and the meanings of the songs. Jessica was proud of getting her GED and completing her CNA classes to become a CNA. She was excited to start classes in the Fall and aspired to be a physical therapist. Jessica lived in the moment, through many struggles in her life she was always thankful she got through them with the love and support of her family.

 

She was deeply loved by all her family. Jessica was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, cousin, niece and friend and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She is preceded in death by her sister, Reagan Michelle Bradshaw. Jessica is survived by her mother and step father, LaDonna Smith and Tommy Fall of Cove, Arkansas; three brothers, Grant Greenwell of Trumann, Arkansas, Michael Elder of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and Logan Dean Withem of Cove; one sister, Ashton Brooke Smith of Cove; four grandmothers, Bernita Claudine Elder of Wellington, Kansas, Anita Sue Mayfield of Wilton, Arkansas, Mary Smith of Wynne, Arkansas, and "Nana" Kathy Fall of Cove; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

A graveside service for Jessica will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove, Arkansas with Brother Reggie Fryar officiating under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. Tony W. Foster Obituary

Tony W. Foster, age 31, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022. He was born June 10, 1990, in Tucson, Arizona, to Terry Dale Foster and Teresa Lynn Destrini.

Tony was an upholsterer by profession and was a very hard worker. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing and going to his grandparent’s cabin. Additionally, he loved mechanic work, playing guitar, spending time with family, and was a very talented tattoo artist. It was said that Tony was too smart for his own good and was very creative and funny, there was never a dull moment with him. Tony loved the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jerry and Wanda Foster; his maternal grandfather, John Destrini; stepfather, Mike Portwood; uncles, Rick Foster, Anthony Delagarza; aunt, Brenda Foster; great-uncle, Carl Foster; and by his great-aunt, Nettie Cross. Betty Mae Philpot Obituary

Mrs. Betty Mae Philpot, age 86, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, in Mena, Arkansas, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born October 27, 1935, in Highland, Arkansas, to the late Millard and Dollie Miller Deramus.

Mrs. Philpot was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and working with flowers in her yard, additionally she loved cooking for her family and was a hobbyist quilter. She faithfully attended the Cherry Hill Gospel Church for many years.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Dollie Deramus; her loving husband, Jim Philpot; brother, Marion Bow; sister, Jan Henry; granddaughter, Kari Lyle Cruz; and by her daughter-in-law, Beverly Philpot. Edna Irene Pettigrew Obituary

Edna Irene Pettigrew, age 77, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the home of her friends and caregivers, Lisa and Jim Bradley in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas. She was born on Sunday, January 21, 1945 to Benjamin Stricklin and Nettie (Yandell) Stricklin in Hatfield, Arkansas.

Edna was a kind and loving woman. She was an elementary teacher who spent the majority of her career caring for and teaching the students of Wickes Elementary. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed playing cards, reading, putting puzzles together, drinking Dr. Pepper, and spending every chance she had with her grandchildren. Edna was a talented artist. She was born in Hatfield and grew up on Six Mile Creek with some of the county's finest women. Her bond with the Stricklin and Miller women made her strong and taught her to put others ahead of herself. Edna and Carroll raised four beautiful, amazing, talented, and humble Godly children of whom she was very proud and who also worked together to write this obituary. Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Cary Stricklin, Calvin Stricklin, Omen Stricklin, and David Stricklin; and two sisters, Bonnie Richardson and Claudia Critser; and close family friends, Bob and Sue Piearcy.

Edna is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Carroll Pettigrew; one son, Chad Pettigrew of Mena, Arkansas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Benji Ferguson and husband Donnie of Mena, Arkansas, Channa Lay and husband Rodney of Mena, Arkansas, and Megan Parker and husband Jason of Magnet Cove, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Emily Smith and husband Kyle, Dustyn Battaglia and husband Thomas, Madison Lowe and husband Loren, R.J. Parker and wife Bayley, Lane Ferguson and wife Harley, Lauren Lay and Aaron Lay; three great grandchildren, River Smith, Josie Parker, and Theodore Battaglia; two sisters, Georgia Marchand and Jean Snellgrove; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Daniel Cemetery Chapel in Wickes, Arkansas with Brother Mark Lyle and Brother Dale Dailey officiating.

Randy Wayne McGowan Obituary

Randy Wayne McGowan, age 60, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his home. He was born on Saturday, May 6, 1961 to James McGowan and Sylvia (Hooper) McGowan in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Randy was a simple country boy. He enjoyed living in a small town and doing anything that involved the outdoors or the lake. Randy liked to BBQ and cook out on the grill any chance he got. He was a plumber by trade and ran his own construction business at one time. Randy enjoyed listening to country music and hanging out with his sister Tami. They would work outside or just run around doing simple things all while making memories together. Randy was a loving son, grandfather, dad, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, James McGowan; one brother, Louis McGowan; two loving sons, Matthew McGowan and Randy Grace.

Randy is survived by one son, Robert McGowan of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one sister Tami Gattis of Mena, Arkansas; one brother, James McGowan of Spring, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and special friend Rickey Morse; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ollie Frances Parsons Obituary

Mrs. Ollie Frances Parsons, age 87, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, in Mena, Arkansas. She was born October 10, 1934, in Gurdon, Arkansas, to the late Warner L. Woodell and Trudie Helms.

Mrs. Parsons was a teacher by profession and adored her career. She loved to garden and was said to have a very green thumb, she especially loved to give away her produce to her friends and family. Ollie is preceded in death by her parents, Warner L. Woodell and Trudie Helms; her loving husband, William Ivey Parsons; brothers, Alex Amos Woodell and Warner Ray Woodell; sister, Shirley Jean Coday; beloved son, Bobby Ray Daugherty Jr.; beloved daughter, Lisa Lynn Holliday; and by her grandson, Ezekiel Daugherty.

She is survived by her son, William Lee Nimith Parsons; stepson, Billy La’roure; daughter, Sandra K. Storar; grandchildren, Roger Shannon Storar, April P. Ed Medlin Obituary

On Saturday, April 9, 2022, Ed Medlin, dedicated husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 83.

Ed was born September 22, 1938, in Hamburg, Iowa. Born to Edward and Mildred Medlin, one of 8 siblings. Ed married Betty Mills in June 1961. Ed and Betty raised two sons, Jerry Medlin of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Jon Medlin, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Ed was a member of the Arkansas National Guard and worked in the automotive retail business for more than 50 years. The later years owning his own used automotive dealership. Ed and Betty made Mena their home since 1971. He was a dedicated fisherman and fished throughout the year. A supporter of Bearcat Athletics and whatever his grandkids, and great grandkids were involved in.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mildred, his siblings, Sonny, Ione, Margarette, JW, Kathy, and Bobby. He is survived by his wife Betty, his sister Ramona, sons Jerry and his wife Sonja, Jon and his wife Christy, grandchildren Kyle and his wife Susanna, Taylor and her husband Bobby, Paige, Luke, Nicole, and Zach; great grandkids Levi, Rhett, and Violet. Ed is survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena on Thursday, April 14. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm.

Ronnie Lee Toon Obituary

Mr. Ronnie Lee Toon, age 29, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2022. He was born March 21, 1993, in Mena, Arkansas to Dewey Toon and Phyllis Ann Dunigan Toon.

Mr. Toon was a mechanic by profession and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Additionally, he adored race car driving; he had gotten his entire family into it as well and it was said he would’ve rather race than eat.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Alfred “G.A.” Toon; his maternal grandparents, Troy Gene Dunigan and Joyce Ann Dunigan; uncle, Dale Lynn Dunigan; and by his cousins, Alex Klitz and Allen Pollard.

He is survived by his parents, Dewey Toon and Phyllis Ann Dunigan Toon; his grandmother, Roma Toon; brothers, Lonnie Joe Toon and wife Jennifer, and Donnie Marion Toon and fiancée Molly Long; his nieces and nephews, Timothy, Dillon, Brooklyn, Roame, Faithlyn, Dannella, and Kashlyn; special cousin, Jerrod David Toon; as well as a host of cousins, other family, and friends too numerous to count.

Services for Mr. Toon will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Smithville High School Gym in Smithville, Oklahoma, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home with Brothers Randy Keiss and Cody McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at the Watson Cemetery in Watson, Oklahoma. There will be a formal visitation held Friday, April 15, 2022, at Beasley-Wood Chapel in Mena, Arkansas.

Dorothy (Tammy) Tamela Miracle Obituary

It is with deep sadness to inform that Dorothy Tamela Miracle (Tammy) passed away Thursday, April 7th at home due to a chronic illness.

Tammy was born September 9, 1959, at the Amarillo, Texas Air Force Base. Shortly after she moved to California where she grew up, frequenting the Santa Cruz boardwalk and meeting “hippies” like Janis Joplin and stars like Betty White. In 1969 her parents retired to Cove, Arkansas where they raised beefalo until her graduation from Van-Cove High School in 1977. Tammy then enlisted in the Marines and proudly served 5 years as a field photographer. After discharge, she moved to Wisconsin where she lived 20 years before moving home to Arkansas to take care of her mom until her final days. Tammy worked different jobs after the Marines but took pride in being a union steward at Woodman’s grocery store in Wisconsin for 14 years.

She is preceded in death by both parents, Robert and Arlene Wilcox; brothers, Mike and Andy Sublett; and partner, Laurie Spencer.

She is survived by her son Robert Miracle, his wife Carla, and grandson Andrew; goddaughter, Jessica Yates; and “adopted” nephews, Tyler, Alex, and Jacob Schmidt; and her partner, Amanda Cottle, for the last 10 years; not to mention countless friends who miss her terribly.

Cremation services entrusted with Beasley-Wood Funeral Home; no services are planned at this time. There will be a celebration of life later this year.

The sun has set on an amazing life. The song is ended but the melody lingers on. And she will be missed, gone from sight but never from our hearts.

Sue Dianne Hart Obituary

Rev. Sue Emmons Hart, age 74, of Mena, Arkansas passed away peacefully with her family present Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on June 4, 1947 to Aaron Jefferson Emmons and Patsy Marie Davlin Emmons in Whitehouse, Texas.

She married the love of her life, Rev. Perry Hart, December 22, 1966. Together they ministered in Texas, Alaska and Arkansas. Sue was known as a woman of faith in God. She always believed that there is no limit to what God can do. She loved telling others of all that God had done in her life with miracles and blessings.

Sue loved to sing, work on Genealogy, and sewing, but she always felt like her family came first.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Perry Hart; and daughter Lydia Charlie of Minto, Alaska, her sisters, Virginia Garrett, Jeanette Rodgers and Janelle Booker and one brother, Jeff Emmons.

Sue is survived by three sons, Joey Hart and wife Kjari of Fairbanks, Alaska; Brandon Hart of Mena, Arkansas and Billy Joe Hart of Mena, Arkansas; three daughters, Dianna De La Garza and husband, Eddie of Los Angeles, California, Julie Moe and husband, Mike of Mena, Arkansas and Katherine Hart of Conway, Arkansas; twenty four grandchildren, one great grandchild; one brother-in-law, Chuck Booker; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Detroit, Texas at the Detroit Assembly of God for both Perry and Sue Hart with internment following at Knights Of Honor Cemetery in Blossom, Texas. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Geraldine Roach Rowsey Obituary

Geraldine Roach Rowsey, age 85, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022, in her home in Mena, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 19, 1936, in South Charleston, Ohio, to the late Okey Roach and Alma Massey Roach.

Mrs. Rowsey was a homemaker, she was a loving and kind wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed bowling and joking with friends and family, she was also known to be a great cook. Her family was her life.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, Okey Roach and Alma Massey Roach; a beloved daughter, Terrie Rowsey White; brother, Okey Roach Jr.; and by her sister, Joanne Dunkel. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James Rowsey; sons, Thomas Rowsey and wife Mindy of North Carolina, and Christopher Rowsey of Mena, Arkansas; grandchildren, Ashley, Lacey, Robert, Christopher James, Tinesa, and Christian; as well as several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Cremation is entrusted to Beasley-Wood Funeral Home, there are no services for Mrs. Rowsey planned at this time.

LaDonna "DeDe" Suzanne Maxwell Obituary

LaDonna “DeDe” Suzanne Maxwell, age 48, passed away March 30, 2022, in Bryant, Arkansas. She was born August 22, 1973, to Dwight Kermit Goodner and Iva Mae Doris Stroud, in Mena, Arkansas.

DeDe attended Paul Mitchell School and Nursing school. She enjoyed listening to music and riding in her son’s Camaro with the top down. Additionally, she enjoyed watching red birds, going to the beach and lying in the sun, and she loved her fur babies Kizzi Mae, her dog, and Michael Jo, her cat. However, she loved her children and grandchildren above all else.

DeDe is preceded in death by her mother, Doris Stroud and by her mother-in-law, Marilyn Maxwell. She is survived by her husband, Scott Maxwell; children, Jordan Hunter and husband Chance, Jacquelyn Romine and husband Justin, Nicholas Myers and wife Cadie, Cooper Maxwell, and Molly Maxwell; grandchildren, Parker Crow, Haydyn Hunter, Averie Romine, Tate Hunter, Colter McReynolds, Kendal Davis, Hunter Davis; father, Dwight Goodner; stepmother, Lori Goodner; brothers, David Goodner and wife Cheryl; sisters, Sheila Bailey and husband T. Wayne, Shelly Goodner; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Services for Mrs. Maxwell will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday April 5, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove, Arkansas. Brother Jason Farthing will be officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, April 4, 2022, at the Beasley-Wood Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Jeff Johnson, Cooper Maxwell, David Goodner, Randy Myers, Marcus Goodner and Travis Erickson.

Laraine Murphy Obituary

Laraine Murphy, age 86, of Hatfield, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Bear Creek Healthcare in DeQueen, Arkansas. She was born on Sunday, August 25, 1935 to Vernon Fields and Beaulah Fincher Fields in Oroville, California.

Laraine was a very private woman, but very kind. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, loved reading books of any kind. Laraine attended the Penuel Church in Hatfield and loved listening to Gospel music. She enjoyed reading and alone time. She liked to bake cookies on occasion with her friends, Connie Buck and Leroy Buck of Hatfield. Laraine was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, James Keith Murphy; and one grandson, Kenny Pasalaqua.

Laraine is survived by four daughters and sons in law, Joann and Greg Peck of Portland, Oregon, Ellen Murphy of San Leando, California, Sandra Reid of Portland, Oregon, and Barbara and Gerhard Hicks Sr. of Wickes; ten grandchildren, James Pasalaqua, Joseph Hicks, Gerhard Hicks Jr., Keith Hicks, Erica Peck, Kristy Craig, Tim Craig, Robert Craig; two great grandchildren, Trevor Hicks, Benjamin Foster, and two close friends, Leroy and Connie Buck and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Laraine will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Black Springs, Arkansas under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
